Honestly, this is the biggest weakness of most of Peter's musings on demographics. Every single number on the Russian census is a number that Russia has had on its census before. It'll be topheavy with old people of course. Is it just that we've never seen countries that topheavy with old people, and Zeihan simply doesn't know what sort of phenomena we'll see in that case? If we look at the case of Rome, we had the Vandals / Visigoths / etc starting to come in the from the wandering steppe peoples. Is there an impending equivalent to that?
