@maritaschweizer1117 Only if you're one of the urban professionals who uniquely benefit from globalism. Other kinds of workers are finding their skills in higher demand, now. As soon as we can get the major funds' stranglehold off of the property market and the greens' stranglehold off of energy, we're going to see a massive boom in standard of living all the way down the socioeconomic ladder. Sorry about your lattes and avocado toast (hint: make them yourself, at home, for like $1 each), but life is going to get a whole lot better for everyone else, including most other members of your family.

Amazon is extensively automated. Those robots require maintenance. We'll continue to argue in circles, panicking one week that there isn't enough productive labor, and panicking the next week that there isn't enough demand. Mostly it's the models of theoreticians that are threatened by this; the only ones safe are the free-marketeers, who figure it will work itself out.

@maritaschweizer1117 Great Britain doesn't have the advantages that the United States has. And, it's being overrun by cheap labor from overseas. They're going to need a massive deportation program, to get themselves back on-track.

"The people under 40 who were buying homes and cars don't exist anymore" So why are homes and cars so f**king expensive? Something here doesn't add up, Peter.

@L Mac That's why they're importing as many cheap foreigners as possible, to pay slave wages, and threaten with deportation if they step out of line. Those are the lucky ones. The unlucky ones are indebted to cartels, and have to work it off in the sex trade as often as not.

@Maerra7 Car dependence isn't so bad except for monumentally destructive government policies like Cash for Clunkers.

"Russia is now their largest partner, which is not going to end well" Is this why it appears we're trying to bleed Russia dry over Ukraine?

@chrise842 Aren't we bleeding too?
