  1. If you can't transmit power efficiently more than 500 miles, how much benefit could we really get from a unified grid? Especially because the Rockies are sparsely populated over more than 500 miles, and Texas has more than enough fossil fuel to keep itself going for the foreseeable future? It's good to hear that someone whose assumptions are so deeply in favor of centralization, have to pay tribute to federalism though.
