He's too Establishment now to give any useful information, though. He needs to dive back into the data to get back to contributing anything original, anything we won't see a hundred other places, that may not even be accurate.

Er, all he's doing is regurgitating Establishment talking points now. He needs to dive back into the data, if he wants to continue to be interesting or useful.

"We've been living in an era of extreme technological innovation for the last 30 years" --- Bull***t. Look at the real-world (not virtual-world) advancements Western Civilization made in the years 1893-1923 (flight, radio, etc) and compare them to the advancements we've made 1993-2023 (er, the iPod?) and it's not even close. Some of the biggest commercial successes we've seen (that have to count as "innovation" to goose the numbers) were made by a college student or two in his dorm room, kind of like the "lone inventor" of yesteryear. Financiers like to think that they're the most important thing in our civilization. They're not. More often than not they get in the way, demanding equity stakes instead of saving those stakes for the actual engineering talent. Silicon Valley was built these sorts of incentives to engineers. Financiers are jumped-up bookkeepers who largely just cream off money they haven't earned, because they're sitting closest to the creamery.

@gusgrimm7533 Definitely. Peter could use some better influences in his life than whatever Establishment shills he gets his politics from.

@honeybadger7853 Not sure he has freedom. I mean, can he really stop doing this at this point?
