  2.  @tileavenue6911  There's nothing wrong with an American knowing what team he's on. He won't risk his reputation too much, though -- hedging his commentary on the Ukrainian conflict, saying "It's still Russia's war to lose", he's distancing himself from the Information Warriors who think that Baghdad-Bob-like control of The Narrative(TM) automatically leads to victory.

I'm still not convinced European / Korean / Japanese demographics are in such good shape that Chinese / Russian demographics are the killer everyone assumes, or that Vietnam would stand up to China in the face of a clearly incompetent / overextended America, or that India would see its best interest in causing trouble in Asia. You could be right, but the fact that Ukraine has not won yet (and may yet not) gives me the impression that Western boosterism should be taken with a grain of salt. The supporters of "information war" need to remember the story of the boy who cried wolf.

They couldn't do it without masses of help from the "inside" on the mainland, but considering how awful the CCP is towards their population I wouldn't rule that out. "Democracy with Chinese characteristics", anyone? =D
