  2.  @stapleman007  An awfully lot of people would have to be "in on it" for this to be some kind of plan. It reminds me more of sheer bureaucratic hubris, perhaps idiocy. Honestly, this is why there shouldn't even be an EU bureaucracy.

  3. So Peter, what are the chances that Poland will annex the non-Russian parts of Ukraine? After all, historically, Poland(-Lithuania) has claims to that territory. For that matter, what are the chances of Scandinavia, the Baltics, Poland, and Romania forming a bloc? Add Germany there (and convince them to boot the Greens and re-industrialize) and you have more than enough to stand against Russia, even with the US simply standing by as an arms dealer.

  4. "There is nothing that is going to change that anytime soon" Well, a political earthquake that puts de-regulators in charge of the EU would probably lead to a quieter, more stable system. I wouldn't bet on regulators at this point in history. The backlash against the Administrative State has begun. =D
