Before you say they have old scientists but not young scientists, how many of those scientists back in the Sputnik era were young?

  2.  @johnp2540  I knew a number of them, back in Silicon Valley. Pro tip -- never go up against an old Russian (or Eastern European) in a game of office politics. Back in the Old Country, they played that game for keeps. Anyone who says they would prefer communism because they hate corporate culture, should bear in mind that a communist society is just one big corporation.

Peter: "This was the last chance the Russians had of starting a war like this, their demographics are done" Also Peter: "Even if they blow past the end of their demographics, that just means they're going to use nukes" So Peter, by this logic, if the Russians had waited another year to go to Ukraine, they'd still have done it, they'd just have rolled up to Ukraine with nukes. Peter, you've tipped over into paranoia at this point.
