  9. It's scary - how much coverage the US election is getting in russia!! Their coverage is more detailed on a country basis than any coverage in the US. They have it all broken down by state and have it analyzed based on which VP will do better in which areas!! (BETTER than some US analysts - and on mainstream russian TV every day!)

I think Lex is grandstanding - essentially doing it all for clicks and views. He's dreaming and dreams of interviewing putin... As Jake has illustrated and discussed it's not just a matter of saying "we'll take it all - give us a deal" because the infrastructure is not there and it's not going to be possible to ship it by the sea. And one of putin's biggest errors was timing - had he waited another year Nord Stream 2 could have been in operation making it even more difficult for Germany to extract themselves from Russian oil. Now he's got an empty $20 Bn tube.

  30. As usual - brilliant insights Jake. I followed Konstantin for a while - I stopped following - it's the same thing over and over. Konstantin was able to emigrate to the US when in his teens and went to University here. He had an excellent career in Hotel Management and had two opportunities to become a partner and stay in the US. A third, even better offer brought him back to Russia in the time when they all made great money and life was fabulous (in Moscow and St. Petersburg)... Then life changed on February 24th. But it didn't change as much for them - as it did for those living peacefully in Ukraine. My heart bleeds for their increases in cost (sic) but I note that not only are these US brands still available - - the STOCK in this store, in almost every product from groceries to personal care items, meats and cheeses, is in excellent shape. Full shelves!! I had an email exchange with Konstantin, his career was based around Siemen's gas turbines and they and Rolls Royce and General Electric have pulled out of Russia - no product support - no parts available. I asked him about a company I had a career of dealings with - Caterpillar. Another US (and Canadian manufacturing plants too) giant. Konstantin did not answer specifically about their branches but it seems like the sale of gear is so important that 'the show must go on'. Disgusting. I share your shame and pain. 'Weak excuses' indeed Sir. Thank you for calling out these greedy politically-correct, US-owned corporations that do one thing as they appear to be doing another. Perhaps they will lose plants and machines and even recipes and labels. Did anyone prevent them from making $$ Bn over the years as they developed those foreign markets?   33. CANADA has become an 'Outlier' and we are slacking in our commitment to the Ukrainian cause! So we've trained some men. Big deal. Canada needs to spend much more money and invest in Ukraine's independence and sovereignty; contribute to our promise to spend at LEAST 2% of GDP on Defence. It would: SUPPORT UKRAINE, contribute to NATO and global Democracy, and it get trump off our back!
