  1. Senior russian political spokespeople are making excuses about the ru ruble. They say things like "We get paid in rubles and we buy using rubles - - so what's your problem? The exchange rate is not important!!" But this is naïve - because now the average russian cannot afford basics like food. And this winter even those in moscow and st. petersburg are going to experience cold homes due to infrastructure failures!!
