  2. Different world back then. Roman soliders that haven't butchered at lease 10 people in the life time wasn't a solider. These were all highly trained killers at hand to hand not from miles away but looking straight into your eye followed by a sword. Punishment for these people wasn't really a big deal they were raised in blood so welcome blood in death
