More likely that the unskilled, uneducated masses far out numbered the few who make the big leaps in technology and organisation, and thus had a much higher chance of surviving a cataclism, so much is lost in a cataclysmic reset. Think about how many people make coffee compared to how many are brain surgeons, we will always be able to get a coffee after the asteroid hits but brain surgery will be a 15,000 year waiting list.🤣
