TheMarineGamer IGGHQ they cannot launch heavier planes and have to re,y on helicopters for AEW. Saying the invented the steam catapult couldn’t be less relavent

TheMarineGamer IGGHQ as opposed to your nuanced view of “Americans bad” very insightful None of that changes the fact that the British haven’t used catapults in several decades whereas the Americans have ha ether on multiple ships since 1947 And apparently. If you don’t win a war, all of your personnel develop retrograde amnesia and lose all their experience. That’s how that works right? I can’t decide if it’s more funny or pathetic how desperate you are, how far backwards you’ll bend before admitting you’re wrong
4
TheMarineGamer IGGHQ except for the half arsed AEW you get from helicopters. Oh and the lack of a greyhound analog but who cares about easy long range resupply/personnel movement “Faster sorties” citation needed “They know it’s benefits better than anyone” lmao that’s retarded given how little practical experience they have of it. The Americans have used steam catapults more in the past week than the brits have in the last two decades. If anyone its the subject matter expert it’s them
3
SloppyDog f35B are inherently less capable than Cs and the lack of catapult prevents them from launching heavier air craft for resupply and AEW
2
Except it happens every 25 years and takes under 4 but whatever; people who say “Murica” aren’t know for their intelligence
1
Joe Swanson the purpose of an aircraft carrier is not to visit port
1
If you can afford 11 like the Americans can then yeah, nukes are the way to go but for the Royal Navy, which the British government couldn’t given two shits about, you really need to reduce costs however you can
1
Kim Jong Long Dong so you have unconfirmed rumors about them getting an system that is still not as capable? Congratulations? I guess the Royal Navy has to take its victories where it can find them And weirdly enough, airborne range/endurance is kinda important for AEW
1
Kim Jong Long Dong it’s a damn sight better than what they had and than what most others have but to save a few pence, they’ve cut off a hand and gouged out one eye. Lucky for them they likely won’t feel the bite of the compromises they make outside of a real war
1
Kim Jong Long Dong “~400 launches” circa 2017, literally nothing could have changed since, right? But you’re right, they went with the more option, half arsed and cheaply and maybe they’ll do something about it in the future
1
Kim Jong Long Dong it’s not my job to prove your point for you buddy Then they could have gone with steam catapults and still been able to launch heavy aircraft
1
TheMarineGamer IGGHQ for someone who bitches so much about Americans trotting out the same old arguments, you certainly are a fan of doing it yourself My favorite part though is how, lacking any actual counter argument/evidence to support yourself, you default back “lol americans dumb/bad” as if that is somehow a clever retort “Britain and France doing all the brain work” citation needed “Logistics requires no brain power” you 100% sure about that chief?
1
Nice to see the Royal Navy get proper big carriers but a lot of design compromises went into these, they’re almost glorified helicopter carriers
1
The Ancients Ancients that is disingenuous bordering on intensely misleading The number you give for the QE is way above the official MoD statement of maximum of 36 F35s(which itself is three times the normal complement of 12) whereas for the ford number is the a standard deployment. The Nimitz can carry 130 FA18s but they never have, usually they only have around 64 or so “Longest runway” because it has no catapult, it needs more space and still can’t launch as heavy of aircraft. This is not a good thing “600 crew” if all your planning to do is sail the ship around but if you want aircraft on your aircraft carrier this number almost triples. Stop lying
1
Colonel Angus except the ship uses a different kind of fuel, DMA than its planes do, JP-5, but whatever The actual advantage from the British point of view is A. Cheaper construction and B. In a few years they won’t lose half their carrier force for a few years during refueling
1
Colonel Angus citation needed
1
Mark Hepworth bullshit, having a catobar carrier would have performed just as well if not better. You were saved by the incompetence of the Argentina Air Force and American missiles
1
Bobis32 Commentary “doesn’t need a quarter of its fuel to land” citation needed What great is even if your number is accurate you’re still wrong because the Cs carry much more fuel than the Bs
1
The QE are the better option for where the Royal Navy found itself at the time
