@ifbfmto9338 wow, literally no one has ever thought of this before, must be hard being smarter than literally every scientist working on dark matter
76
You greatly underestimate how much professors make, especially at his level

5:05 the dead zone is where effectively all scientific papers live. One notable exception being “Will any crap we put into graphene increase its electrocatalytic effect?” published last year
13
Source: trust me bro
11
@RabbitKiwi if you don’t understand why 2+2=4, calculus is a bit too advanced for you

**Police Called**

@franciscofarias6385 false, science is often a hate crime

" I live in America," oh you mean the country that's performing this mission? The only country to have successfully landed something on Mars? The country that spends the most on research and development? The country that has the best college system? The country with the most scientific paper published and the most citations? you need to get out of the "America is the worst at everything" bubble
4
@asitpaul423 uh, no? They have an orbiter, that's it
3
It’s easier to see the moon that’s 382 500 km than it is to see a city that’s 100 km away
2
Gareeb Scientist yeah but that require someone beside the Americans being able to successfully land something on mars, which has not yet happened
2
9:22 why does the probability drop off below 20?
2
@HungryLoki then why do so many Europeans come to the US to go to school?
2
The world is binary, either something is a knot or it is not
1
Isn’t that more or less what quantum field theory is? There don’t exist any discreet particle but rather local maxima in fields
1
Yung GOD luckily the ESA isn’t running this mission so it probably won’t crash
1
My lab has an IPES instrument and it’s very sensitive to noise from the environment. We recently moved out lab form the basement to the top floor and saw a non trivial spike in our background signal. I dont know if it was cosmic rays but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was
1
@veritasium DAMN YOU COSMIC RAYS shakes fist at sky
1
P is phosphorus and Po is polonium. Besides, it’s hardly the only inconsistency
1
@JuliusUnique no we really don’t
1
If the wheel is driving the propeller, how does the car start? Surely it’s the other way round, the propeller takes energy from the wind by slowing it down in the forward direction and this is what drives the wheels
1
The experiment seems similar to the ones run to find neutrinos, how do they discriminate between light from neutrinos and light from dark matter?
1
@ yes. You can definitely both 2 and 4 as iterations of unity, define combination and define equality. There is a reason addition is taught to literal children
1
@GodplayGamerZulul man, reading is hard for some people, isn’t it?
1
Somewhat odd that the method we use to control avalanches (allowing smaller, controlled avalanches) is the exact opposite of how we treat fires
1
MEN 101 in the same way that i don’t have the technology to play a vhs tape
1
MEN 101 ....that’s not even remotely the same thing
1
MEN 101 do you think the Red Hot Chili Peppers are an authority on the matter?
1
Please, for the love of god, read another book, there are so many out there
1
suf sanin how exactly? The don’t exactly have a stellar record sending stuff to mars
1
@sufsanin1917 kinda hard to hide sending stuff to mars, and they've crashed everything so far Try to remember this is country with fewer people than Bangladesh, an economy smaller than South Korea that couldn't figure out how to build an olympic village "But Russians were the first to launch a satellite to Mars." after more than a decade of failures and even then, the orbiters didn't fulfill their mission, NASA had the first flyby, successful orbiter and lander "And they archived much more "firsts" than America so I think that they are more advanced." this is so unspeakably dumb, i honestly hope you're trolling
1
@sufsanin1917 What other points? You have a childish, ignorant and just overall dumb understanding of any and all pertinent information. Just because the Soviet Union once did some stuff that doesn't mean anything now, certainly not that russia not only is capable of landing stuff on Mars, something they've never been able to do successfully, but also of hiding it from the entire world
1
@sufsanin1917 "NASA were more successful as the Russians already did the necessary experiments" citation needed and if this were true, why weren't the Russians then also more successful?
1
20:19 I’m missing something. How can the statement about g have a godels number of g? Surely it’d be some constant (the rest of the statement) times g
1
The phrasing on the question is the problem, there are not three separate options, there is not way to flip tails and only wake up on Monday or on Tuesday, they are inherently linked. There are only two options, wake up on Monday or on Monday and tuesday
1
No one is suggesting that light travels at different speeds in different directions, they’re saying our observation are as consistent with that as they are with a universal speed
1
@harleyspeedthrust4013 citation needed
1
@harleyspeedthrust4013 someone’s fragile lmao
1
@lepassant478 " "The best college system" lmao, patriotism/20" how exactly does patriotism work if it's not your country? Besides, it's not me saying it, it's these guys for several years running now https://universitas21.com/network/u21-open-resources-and-publications/u21-rankings/u21-ranking-national-higher-education
1
@Aspy "one of the largest" is there a larger western country I'm unaware of? " they have the population, budgets and economy respectively to do so" does Europe not? The soviet union? China? Why are they so good at landing when everyone else can only manage to crash?
1
"Canada is larger than the USA" yeahno, the US has a greater land area by like 50,000 sq km plus 300,000,000 more people "Brazil is almost as big" Congratulations, did I say no one was close? Learn to read
1
perhaps not but you do have google, which you should endeavor to use
1
Its fitting that the National lab that messes around the most on its veritasium video is in Florida
1
of course it did, it wasn't a European mission
