  1. What is the message of the "joke" for the audience watching? Laughing at and belittling the achievement, acting like he's wasted his time. You would not see a "joke" like this from a news anchor about chess, or darts, or golf. As a news anchor her intention or mindset doesn't matter, what's important is the message the audience takes away from it. It's also not hard to imagine she really thinks this, her laughter isn't at her "joke" it's that she's not taking the achievement seriously.
