The Jehovah's Witnesses treat CSA as a sin, not a crime. As such, they do not report these to the authorities unless required by law. And, even that is only left to the victims, which are groomed not to do it because that would "dirty God's name."
72
@koreanhog5735 - Criminals are isolated, not shunned. Family members can visit them. Plus your example does not apply. If any person voluntarily leaves the cult, they are shunned as an apostate. Do they deserve to be treated as criminals?
65
To the Jehovah's Witnesses, obeying their Governing Body equals obeying Jehovah. And disobeying thier Governing Body equals disobeying Jehovah.
58
@koreanhog5735 - "Shunning of ex-witnesses does not break family ties." That is a blatant lie. Tell that to the thousands of people who have had no contact with their JW family for years. Contact with ex-members is not "discouraged." It's forbidden. Once again you are equalling not agreeing with the Jehovah's Witnesses Governing Body with being a criminal. What if a person decides that the CSA cover-up (a real crime) is something they don't want to be a part of and leaves? What if a person decides to accept a life saving blood transfusion? What if a person decides that the Overlapping Generations prophecy is ridiculous? Are you going to sit there and equal these people with criminals?
40
@adrianthomas6244 - Have you watched the Australian Royal Commission?
37
@adrianthomas6244 - Care to list those "false accusations"?
36
@Mischief716 - That is a half-truth. First, it wasn't last year, it was last month that "the Governing Body has decided" to allow members to reach out to their disfellowshipped family, and invite them to start assisting the meeting again. If they refuse, they will continue to be shunned. And even if they start going to the meetings, active J-Dubs are only allowed to greet them when they arrive. Specific instructions were given to not have an extended conversation with these disfellowshipped ones. You will continue to be shunned until you are reinstated, which typically takes a year.
35
"We might live in the world, but we are no part of the world." - This is hammered into the Jehovah's Witnesses from birth. Yes, they are an isolated group. If you are caught socializing with a non-JW, you will get in trouble.
34
@Mischief716 - You obviously have no idea how abusive the Jehovah's Witnesses cult is if you are going to question the victims' "anger and bitterness." Arguing that other groups shun is not a defense. Because someone else commits a crime is not an excuse for you to do the same.
26
Thanks for exposing their doble-talk. The Watchtower historically speaks out of both sides of their mouths, using half-truths to cover up their abusive ways.
24
@koreanhog5735 - Only a Jehovah's Witness would make an comment this arrogant.
23
Because they believe that they are above everyone else.
22
@mulenga873 - Your comments reflect your dark heartedness.
20
@koreanhog5735 - Who are you trying to convince? Me or you? I'm not surprised by your play on words. That's the way the Watchtower trains its members. Once again, it's not a choice they're entitled to. There are consequences for not following the Governing Body's directives. But please continue commenting. That way people who read the comment section can learn how the Jehovah's Witnesses lie.
20
@eyevanwillaims7368 - That's how I reasoned 30 years ago when Barbara Anderson exposed the CSA issues inside the cult. I eventually stopped lying to myself.
19
@Mischief716 - People die because of this cult. Lives are destroyed because of this cult. Take a moment to think about the group you are trying to defend.
17
Good for you!
16
@Mischief716 - You need to keep up with your both accounts. You start a conversation as Mischief then switch to Koreanhog without noticing it. 🤣
16
Exactly!
15
@koreanhog5735 - You seem to be extra worried about people exposing CSA in the Jehovah's Witnesses. Are you worried that someone will expose you?
15
I lost 32 years inside that cult.
14
It's a dangerous cult.
13
@timothykporsu2472 - Does it matter WHY someone is disfellowshipped? Does sleeping with someone, smoking, accepting a lifesaving blood transfusion, or just deciding that you don't believe in the Governing Body deserve a lifetime of shunning?
10
I will watch it.
9
@stoiccrane4259 - They change rules as frequently as they do their underwear.
9
@CeceTvCeceTv - I'm not disfellowshipped. I'm not even disassociated. All I did was walk away from the religion, and every J-Dub family member and as called friends are shunning me.
7
@Survivorwarrior101 - Have you spoken to a lawyer?
7
@timothykporsu2472 - You wrote a lot but said very little. "Nobody is shunned for a lifetime. [...] The only way that happens is if the person is not repentant or does not quit doing the wrong thing." - So people are shunned for a lifetime. I'm not going to argue dogma. But I have a question for you. If a person wants to leave the religion because they discovered the CSA covered up by the WT, and did some research on all the WT's failed prophecies. They are not fornicating, smoking, or doing anything wrong. They believe in God and continue to live by Bible principles. Where in the Bible does it say that you must shun these people? Their only sin was not wanting to be part of a criminal organization called The Watchtower. And yet, you condemn them to an unbiblical life sentence.
7
Seek professional help. Free yourself from this wicked cult once and for all.
6
@plainwhitepaper3898 - According to the Watchtower, there is them, and there is all other religions, which they refer to as "Christiandom." Either you are different, or you are the same.
6
@timothykporsu2472 - That was a lot of verbal diarrhea right there.
5
@timothykporsu2472 - Oh! You can guarantee what I don't have. That's nice to know. JW Two Witness Rule: An J-Dub must have two witnesses to back an accusation, or a confession of the wrongdoer. If there are no two witnesses, and the accused denies the wrongdoing, you must leave everything in Jehovah's hands. I'm a former Bethelite and Regular Pioneer. Anything else you want to guarantee I don't have the facts of?
5
@kant.68 - You are a JW who is watching an apostate video? Yeah, right.
5
The Jehovah's Witnesses teach that by the fruit you will know the tree. When it's another religion, it's bad. But when it's them, "Every one produces bad apples"? Lovely!
5
The Jehovah's Witnesses love to lie in court. Just watch a case in Canada concerning shunning. They blatantly states that they don't shun those who are disfellowshipped, which is a lie.
5
So, because it happens elsewhere, it's OK for JWs to do it. Nice comment 👍.
5
@kbotah2023 - "We do not automatically disfellowship someone who commits a serious sin." This is a half-truth and very disingenuous. The disfellowshipping arrangement is emotional blackmail designed to keep people inside the group regardless of them wanting to be part of it, and to force those who leave to return if they can't handle being ostracized by their family and friends.
5
@luzelenakates9340 - The Organization's replies are full of lies and half-truths.
5
Exactly!
4
@Galactic_Galactic89 - Many J-Dubs have social issues.
4
@lugi25 - Show me one Bible verse which says, "Overlapping Generations." I'll wait.
4
@tiabeaniesemotionalsupportdmon - This is sick. 😡
4
The Jehovah's Witnesses will place the Watchtower's reputation over their own children.
4
@DawnyaJones - Leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses is "leaving Jehovah?" I escaped that organization six years ago. I'm more spiritual, moral, ethical, honest, and with a much more loving heart, than when I was a member of that cult.
4
And the 80s and 90s.
4
It's sad and disgusting how this cult destroys lives. I wish you the best.
3
@lisasykes624 - No one calls the police. But they lie and say that they do. They do NOT! They are instructed to contact their Service Department who will determine if it is mandatory where they live. If it's not mandatory, the Elders are instructed to keep quiet.
3
@timothykporsu2472 - At best you are being disingenuous. You wrote many words, yet said very little. Thanks to the Internet, you can easily find the facts about the Jehovah's Witnesses handling of CSA.
3
@ec329 - It seems that you don't know anything about how the Jehovah's Witnesses work. Otherwise you would've understood the video and my comment.
3
The Jehovah's Witnesses are a very dangerous cult.
