@CosmicLogic-ts5vr That isn't the topic here. The topic is contraceptives. What do they have to do with abortions?
3
But that has nothing to do with this video that is about something else.

I feel the same everytime I see someone posting under a video when he didn't even read the description or looked up what is shown before ranting in a comment about it.

@xninjawolfx Yes, a reptile tells you that this isn't something to question humanity about :)

This is a centuries old ritual. Actually it involves symbolism for the compatibility between old lay piety and roman catholicism. Tipp: First research and then rant (if warranted).

It is a centuries old symbolic ritual that has been done time and time again in mexican towns over the years. The person in power - nowadays an elected mayor - gets symbolically married to nature so that both work together for the peoples wellfare (good harvests, no floods, etc.) - similar to a marriage that allegedly once settled a conflict between two enemy indigenous groups. Dressing up the "bride" in a traditional wedding dress and holding a mock "marriage" with elements reminding of a christian marriage is also seen as a symbol for the acceptance between old cultural customs (accepted as lay piety) and the roman-catholic christian faith. (By the way: the roman-catholic church openly accepts such cultural symbolic customs as "popular piety", as long as they don't contradict christianity.)

Why is the Christiban always seeing "santanists" everywhere? I mean - paranoia is treatable...

@timothyhollins6010 The opposite is true.

@CosmicLogic-ts5vr So you reject abortions and you reject contraceptives. Let me guess: Sex should be banned too?
1
It's just a cultural ceremony. A mock marriage with centuries old symbolism. A strange few hours long custom. Nothing more.
1
And the next one who neither read the video description nor spent 3 minutes to actually look up what this is.
1
@Herowebcomics Why? It is a symbolic custom, not a real wedding. Just a show as a symbol for partnership between human and nature, as a reminder to an alleged historic peace accord and as a symbol for adopting roman catholicism while mainting cultural customs. In western culture we let doves fly as a symbol of peace. And getting chased by bulls through narrow streets in Spain - just as another rather ugly example - seems to be the much crazier cultural custom to me (that by the way - other than this one - actually involves animal abuse). It's a charade like children masquerading as cop, firefighter, dragon or clown on Carnival.

Isn't there anything in the bible about not judging others when you actually don't know anything about what they allegedly have done? This is a centuries old symbolic ritual that has been done time and time again in mexican towns over the years. Depends on the chosen keyboard layout. If it for some reason got changed to an european keyboard scheme, which can happen when using Windows, the Z is where in the US layout the Y is - very close to the R. (Nevertheless of course an inexcusable mistake by that officer.)
1
Because an a few hours long (if it at all) centuries old symbolic ritual is so bad that you even have to condemn the culture. Getting chased by bulls in narrow streets in Spain is okay though..?

@moteroargentino7944 At the time the other user posted he wasn't. But sadly now he actually is. Source is i.e. MVTimes or NBC Boston.

Unfortunatly he didn't make it and died some days later in a hospital (Source: NBC Boston).

1) This is of course NOT a real marriage. It's a centuries old symbolic ritual. Getting chased by bulls through the town is dumber IMO. 2) Homophobia is stupid.
