  1. The same thing is happening all across the Anglosphere. Right wingers in Aotearoa have been talking like our center-right Labour party are far left. It's insane. And it doesn't help that our legacy media, and some new media, still calls our center-right Labour party "center left". This thing they've done where they've decided that the political "center" is a moveable line somewhere in between what were traditionally working class parties and the more conservative right wing parties in the middle of the Overton window instead of the objective center in the middle of the political compass is highly problematic. And honestly, I feel like new media can be almost as bad. I thought Kyle Kulinski understood the difference between the Overton window, the zeitgeist and the objective political compass, but often you hear him describe the "center" as being the center of the zeitgeist, rather than the center of the political compass. We're all fucked if people can't learn the difference between these three things.
