  1. Why don't they spend some of that sweet sweet canal moola on some fresh water from other countries nearby that might have some to spare? Or could they possibly pump water up from the sea to the lower locks so they don't have to use as much fresh water from the top? Or could they build another canal at sea level so they're not using the lake? They could possiby even use some of the existing canal and then just bypass the lake. IDK, just some thoughts I had. If anyone knows why these aren't good ideas let me know.
