  1. LOL. That's what I came here to say. Only rookies cut off the whole bottom, and you really have to use a proper cone or socket screwed into the bottle top to get a good seal.

  2. Don M Yeah, the problem is, cutting off the whole bottom means the water doesn't exactly stay vacuumed inside the bottle slowly releasing the water below giving a good pull. Instead it just kind of pulls straight out of the water, unless you've got your cone packed super tight. I think that's the difference here, it's what we're using as cones, or bowls, and how much air they let through in comparison to how much water is released from the bottom of the bottle, be it cut right off or with a few fairly open holes. It's different for all of us because we all use different equipment. Even if we both use ratchet sockets, we might use different sizes, and different size bottles.

  3. EPIC FAIL! You don't cut off the whole bottom of the inner bottle. Just cut four or five smaller holes. This will give you the correct amount of drag. Also, using tinfoil for the cone piece is very weak and it's lazy, don't be lazy. Use the bottle top from the bottle you are using, and cut a hole in the top large enough to screw a cone piece or a socket from your ratchet set.
