Please do follow up on this one. Lewis(Louis?) is being a bit harsh there. And I don't think he's correct. People can learn life lessons and how to tackle adversity from things like sports and recreation, our social interactions don't need to be as callous. At the same time, I have a new phrase I like to use in response to Political Correctness, Academic Correctness, couple this with Emotional Correctness and anyone with half a brain should figure out that sometimes the person who "offended" you is Academically underprivileged and you should have empathy for their position, so interpret their words through a filter as not to be offended. It could even be a teaching moment for the person who offended them. Maybe you could show them how they are academically incorrect in a calm "emotionally correct" fashion.
