  4. Two words: Prosperity gospel. Which states that if you're rich you must have worked hard and are morally righteous. Thus you fully deserve your wealth. And if your poor, you must have been immoral and lazy and deserve poverty. Hence, taxing the rich for things like healthcare to the poor is considered, taking from the moral to give to the immoral. I know disgusting, but that is the prevailing philosophy of the American christian right.
