A true anarchist understands the dangers of giving unfettered power, when it pertains to both the public and private sectors.

Exactly that what I get out of it too. Marxian-Leninin (aka: The Soviet model) is a failure, and quite frankly doesn't even make any sense? As there was no real incentive for the state to dissolve it's massive amount of power over time like Marxian-Leninst theory espouses? Hierarchical institutions, rarely ever give up their power voluntarily... The same principle can also be applied to today worshiper's of free market fundamentalism as well.

Deep Thought I think Adam Smith would have some remorse if he saw the way is ideas were perverted by the greedy sociopaths into vile excuses for corporate tyranny. As his writings in 'The Moral Sentiments' showed he had a sense of ethical morality. Friedman on the other hard, I doubt would have cared. He showed his true colors, both he and Hayek, when they supported the violent, fascist state in Chile under Pinochet.

Deep Thought "That the rise of Fascism in the thirties and World War II resulted from the masses of scared people, with no sense of control over their economic destiny, acting in ways small and great from economic fear and the panic." Yep... And as a major in German studies. Quotes like this chill me to the bone, as our current zeitgeist is very similar to this period! The German people fell for Hitler's ramblings for a reason... They didn't decide to become monsters overnight.. There was a catalyst..
