  4. People, as identifiable groupings, can, and will be stereotyped for all sorts of reasons. Pick any group and notice it's stereotype - men, women, fat, old, 'black', 'white', catholic.. etc. etc. Most people are only unhappy with the 'system' when the type attributed to them is not how they wish to be perceived.. even if they do in fact identity with it. It's just what humans do. We generalise. It makes some things easier. But it does not mean that we are unable to recognise any and all exceptions

  5. Dorothy Gale 'Normal' people do all manner of terrible things. You cannot simply brush away (unfortunately) the dreadful and terrible that people do, by a sweeping inaccurate statement like that
