That men will, freely, choose even to listen to/comment positively on, and appreciate something that a woman has to say, and without they themselves being ridiculed, is the most important step forward that there has been for both women and men - people as a whole. It is sad that, these shrieking, extreme, non-representative groups, are far too wrapped up in their skewed self-interest, to even recognise it! The foundation that had been lacking in the past, has been established for some time now, allowing for mature discourse between people, regardless of gender. That is the way that a civilised society deals with the present, with injustices, imbalances etc., and the way that we progress towards a positive future, both for ourselves, our children, and beyond.

@PaladinVII Succinctly put! Unfortunately, those who wish to manipulate society, and lead it by the nose, have collected all embers and piled and fanned them (before it would be too late) All the potentially divisive groupings that can be made, are being agitated, stoked, exaggerated to the point of extremism.. poor, poor, people! See them join in; 'It's women's fault.. It's men's fault.. Race.. Religion.. Both 'wings'.. Sexuality.. etc., etc., etc.' Counting the groups is now a full time game! Poor, poor, people :(

@Sidney You should have prefaced your piece with the question you posed near the end, almost as a throwaway. That being, what is the aim of the justice system - to punish.. deter.. rehabilitate.. to right other social injustices..? This is in fact a very important question. It is crucial that we first establish this. Much of the contradictory judgement and treatment in dealing with offenders stems from this confusion. Once we have 'its' aims in order, we can then move to establishing systems for dealing appropriately with all and any aspects related to each individual case.
One way perhaps, would be to turn it on its' head. Use the courts and basic law as the first step? - whereby, having established guilt/innocence, the sentence for that particular offence is stated, for any person - instead of the mish-mash of reports from social workers, probationary services, criminal history, et al, being presented in the courts at that point, as happens presently. In other words, separating the 'social' aspect from the 'criminal' aspect, while addressing both. Just a thought.

@josephleblanc3884 I'll admit to having been a little surprised by the apparent belief by many, that the whole 'toilet-seat' thing, is to do with convenience or otherwise for whichever gender. This is not my understanding of it. As i see it; obviously anyone can adjust the seat to however they wish it. It is the lid that is the point! As someone already mentioned, the lid should be placed down prior to flushing, thus avoiding throwing out waste particles into the air. So, first and foremost, it is a matter of good hygiene. (to place the lid down, you obviously place the seat down too) Then, even leaving aside the hygiene position, there's the practical/aesthetic of it (you wouldn't leave all cupboard doors, drawers etc. open all the time would you?) Imagine how your home would look! This whole thing only has the 'appearance' of being a 'gender' thing as, apparently, women are more particular in their homes
