Wikipedia defines engineering as “Engineering is the use of scientific principles to design and build machines, structures, and other items, including bridges, tunnels, roads, vehicles, and buildings”. If you extend that to software, nothing dictates that you should be following a waterfall model.

  2. Then you were one of the lucky ones. According to the 2015 CHAOS report from the Standish Group, the percentage of failed/successful/challenged Waterfall projects is 29/14/57 vs. 9/42/49 with Agile. Huge difference.
