Argentina invaded on the Friday, the crisis was not even at the top of the news until earlier that week. The task force had two light carriers, with 22 short range fighters, with a large part of the landing force in luxury liners, Sealink ferries, and so on. The whole thing took place at over 7,000 miles from Britain. Operation Corporate is widely regarded as a masterpiece of military improvization.
