Total Rubbish. The entitre British superiority in was 1.6 to 1, not 10 to 1.

'FDR was a deceitful POS.' Yes he was.

Montgomery won at Alam-el-Halfa with iods of 6 to 4 against. When did the US win in Europe without superior numbers?

Charles Tellis That is a good post. Can we see some more of the ecape story please?
3
Rubbish. Enigma had already been cracked before an encoding machine was recovered from a German submarine.

Art Khan Not really.

@flowerchickenhairsparkle6779 Yes. Churchill was, by a country mile, the outstanding war leader of any of the main belligerents. He rallied the allied cause in the vital days of 1940 and 1941. He clearly saw the way ahead for the conduct of the war, and what should happen in the post-war world. Things went wrong with planning for the post-war world when Roosevelt got involved.

Yea, and we British just sat on our hands when it came to defending 'Freedom'.
1
@garyseeseverything8615 Freedom for Britain for a start.
1
@garyseeseverything8615 'Britain calls itself the common wealth of nations' I never heard of it. Britain is a member the Commonwealth of Nations, along with 53 other countries, one of the newest member states being Mozambique, which was previously a Portuguese colony. Fancy some more?..

Andrea GOLD. Until America turned up.

How so?

@dovetonsturdee7033 Spot on. The real war against Japan was was on mainland Asia.
1
Absolutely not.

252 Sherman tanks, and 95 Priest Self-propelled guns.
1
How so?
1
And why would that be?
1
How so ? Britain could not compel other peoples to enlist.
1
@etiangfrederick6257 Err... its a definate no. Australia, Cananda, Newfoundland, New Zealand, and South Africa were Dominions with their own foreign policy. India, although less autonmous, could instigate conscription. Britain was in no moe position to enforce conscription on the colonies, or even Northern Ireland.

France made an important contribution to the Polish effort to get into enigma. Even after the Polish handed their secrets across to Britain, there remainded a huge task to crack German messages on a daily basis, and to keep up with German refinements to the technology. Furrther, on its own, Britain cracked the far more complex Gehimeschreiber (Secretwriter) technology used for German High Command messages.

Oh dear...for the thicko from Ohio... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJCF-Ufapu8&ab_channel=SergioIQ 4 hours 6 minutes, 32 seconds onwards. Yet another stunning BBC documentary. I watched it when it was first broadcast, in early 1977. Probably about 25 years before Big Woody/Para Dave was born. Why don't people learn?..I never bluff.

Or nothing like that
