I know this was 7 months ago but the next time if u go to the U.S. again in the future I recommend going to a southern state and see if u can interview a Japanese high schooler or middle schooler on what it’s like being the only Japanese-American or only Asian in their grade Level or school please? At my old small school in a rural town in the U.S State Arkansas there were only 2 Asians in the whole school. Both Half Japanese and Half white American. The first one being Ben Ino, who’ll be graduating with my cousin next year and has a Japanese dad white mom (never met his dad but his mom is nice) . You can tell he’s mixed but he slightly looks more Japanese. Then the other one is Cody Schulist. His middle name is his his Japanese name Nabayoshi and his closest friends always called him Yoshi. You can tell he’s mixed and sometimes forget he’s half Japanese unless you see him with his younger siblings who look much more Japanese and his mom who’s from Japan and has a thick Japanese English accent. I think she’s raising all three of them alone as I have no Clue what happened to his bio father and his younger brother Has their mom’s last name.
