Attention! Long post!
Hope, you will read it, and it will help you somewhat to rise above the words (the form), and their changing meaning, and dive into the matter itself (physical biological existence of Major European race).
Your channel is a perfect illustration of palpable confusion of liberal White Americans (especially women) about what is and what is not a race, what is and what is not an ethnicity, what is and what is not a culture.
White = the descendants of: Western Hunter Gatherers + Eastern Hunter Gatherers + Scandinavian Hunter Gatherers + Early Neolithic Farmers = European from traditionally Christian background (basically the whole of Europe).
1. You try to make arguments "from lexicology": if someone understood a particular term in some manner, and then other people started to understand this term in another manner, that means therefore, that this term is unreliable, or not grounded in reality.
The fact is that the meanings of words change constantly. But the matter, the substance, the reality stays the same, regardless of the human beholder.
If Benjamin Franklin consider only English to be White -- okay, fine. He was just man, and to err is a human trait.
You can call people of European ancestry as White, Caucasian, Europ(eo)id, North Eurasian and many many other terms, but the genes, the anthropology, the material cultures, the common so-called Indo-European heritage in terms of language, early pagan religions and beliefs -- all of this is still holds true, and will hold true. Why? Because it's based not on assumptions, claims or social constructs -- it is based in material reality.
There is a reality:
1. Humans are devided into certain geographico-genetical clusters, which had little to no contact between each other for 10,000s of years. The gene selection was happening under vastly different environmental pressure: different climate, different geography, different flora and fauna, different genetic drift, different parallel humanities as their neighbours. All of these contributed to establishing different races of people, with different adaptations, different genetic pools etc.
Most common Y-haplogroups, shared by most White men are:
- R1b.
- R1a.
- I2a.
- I1.
- N1.
- E1b1b.
And some more.
Most common mitochondrial haplogroups found among White men and women:
- H1.
- H3.
- H5.
- HV.
- J.
- K.
And some more.
Unfortunately, I cannot describe here all the unique genes and the allele variations that are found ONLY in Whites, because it would take like a 500 pages monograph.
2. Culture is a product of genes. Culture doesn't fall down from heavens like mana. It doesn't appear from thin air. People on both left and right use the word "culture" without any actual definition, very often as a filler word, or a synonym to: race, ethnicity, nationality, language, cuisine or religion, without defining the boundaries and clear application of this term.
European, or Proto-European (if you will it more) tribes and peoples shared such material cultures as:
- Corded Ware Culture.
- Yamnaya Culture.
- Beaker Bell Culture.
- Baden Culture.
- Narva culture.
- Cucuteni–Trypillia culture.
- Globular Amphora culture.
- Funnelbeaker culture.
- Horgen culture.
- Fatyanovo–Balanovo culture.
- Comb Ceramic culture.
- Pitted Ware culture.
3. A lot of myth, stories and beliefs shared by ancient European peoples, including the myth of creation, myth of death, myth of appearance of the first human and so on. A deep pre-Christian connection.
4. Most Whites belong to the so-called Indo-European language group, to its European side, where there are such language families as:
- Germanic family.
- Romance family.
- Celtic family.
- Slavic family.
- Baltic family.
- Greek family.
- Armenian family.
- Albanian family.
Yes, Basques, Finns, Hungarians and Estonians are still White, because genetically they are mostly Europeans.
People of North Eurasian descent (White people) are connected almost on every level of human existence:
- genetics.
- phenotypes.
- languages.
- pre-historic material cultures.
- pre-Christian traditions.
- Christianity.
- Common broadly understood shared and admired European culture, which is based on Greece and Rome, Empire of Carl the Great, Antiquity, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Barocco, Classicism, Romatism, Modernism etc.
I really admire and respect the fact, that you have decided to explore your family's history, but when it comes to the term "White", there is nothing really to debate about.
