  2.  @H.G.Halberd  Civics is (or was) a US high school course about how American democracy works. It's where US high school students study (or used to study) the US constitution.

  3.  @H.G.Halberd  I'm not an American either, but I did have to take a civics class there. I don't think there was much like the third reich indoctrination though. And there was no pressure for every student to have the same opinion, though there were certain facts that had to be learned to pass tests. By the way, I know one Canadian who sewed the school to be able not tosay the pledge of allegiance. She won the case.
