That is what the millions in foreign aid were trying to do, and all that has been accomplished is lining the pockets of Third World leaders while they complain about the West. To let the Third World evolve, cut off all aid and trade. Let the Third World develop itself in the direction it wants to go.

@heavierthanlight7173 That's precisely why I said the best thing to do is stop trading with or giving aid to the Third World. Let them work out their own destiny.

@heavierthanlight7173 Projects that start from the people rather than their leaders seem to be productive. At least that was the case with Quaker-funded well digging in Kanya.

@heavierthanlight7173 I think you need to look a bit more closely at exactly what China is up to in the Third World. Their Third World programs are at least as self-interested as those of the West. Look particularly at land acquisition, forest and mineral use.
