A good example from my own life is how baffled I get every winter from the tourists' excitement over my city, just because I'm currently undergoing my yearly winter depression :D Or how I reply "Oh, that's nothing, really" to their reactions at some faint northern lights. Objectively beautiful stuff looks gray and dull cause I'm too used to it and/or because I'm sad at the moment
