Well said Carol, all good points, although I think youβre talking to the converted. Itβs always the few bad apples or the unknowing or just plain ignorant that spoil it for all . One of the great journeys here is to go to the tip of Cape York ,the northern most point of Australia, the local aboriginal custodians of the land were so feed up with people going to the toilet were ever they wanted without burying it , leaving poo and toilet paper all over the place. It was so bad and disrespectful that they were talking about closing the area to all . The outcry in response was,itβs not us itβs foreign tourists. Thatβs until COVID hit and there was no foreign tourist only Ozzieβs and the problem still remained. To me the answer would be to build toilets every 50 to 100 miles, then youβd need to control vandalism in such remote areas. As for approaching someone doing the wrong thing, me and the bride discussed this at length and or conclusion is best not to, you never know the response and you just donβt need the grief. Love and prayers, stay strong πππ₯°β€οΈπππππππβπ¦ΊπΊπ¦πΊp.s. still at Gootchie Creek Escape to good to leave so weβre staying another week, apart from a couple of campers right up the other end we have 600 acres to our selfβs. Think campfires and a million stars and you get the picture. Look it up on google earth ππβ€οΈπ¦πΊ
