  7.  @Fayde-o1h  exactly!! I see it alot here in WA. Job sites with nothing but people speaking Spanish and one white guy walking around. About 15 years ago we moved into one the first of over a dozen cookie cutter homes. Next to no yard to speak of and sharing a driveway to your garage. And every day I would hear yelling in Spanish and loud music. It was so loud that when they left it was disquieting.

Voted Democratic once because my Republican mom adviced me, Booth Gardner was a better candidate than the Republican, John Spellman. I regretted that nearly instantly and still do. And I also had a trauma riddled childhood. Was even SA 7 years ago. And I view all the issues that happened to me as the direct cause of those people choosing to be vile and commit acts of violence. And I chose to not repeat it.

  28. Being from a very pro military family, stolen valor is repugnant IMO. No one wants to go to war. I didn’t want my son to go when W Bush was president and I don’t want his son, my oldest grandchild, to go now ( especially not for pro war Democrats), though my grandson says he wants to go to serve his country. My dad served in Korea. In both the Navy and then the Army. My two stepfathers were both in Vietnam. One brother was in the Army for 9 years and only saw service in Nicaragua skirmish. And another was an Army Drill Sergeant for 6 years, got out, went to college to get a bachelor of science then enlisted in the Marines and left after 8 years as a tank commander. He saw no action so he told us all not to thank him on Nov 11. My first husband was in the Gulf War. My son in law was a corpsman with the Marines in Fallujah at its worst. ( that man is SCARRED). As I pointed out, though my brother was in the Army and Marines he didn’t see himself as a vet, because he didn’t see action. He had signed up with the Marines just as the Gulf War started and it was over before he could deploy. So Walz is definitely lying by omission about his “valor”.

  33. The reason the polls barely change is because they take a very small amount of people that they ask. They need a larger pool of people to get an accurate representation of how voters feel. Polling 10k out of hundreds of millions of voters shows nothing. Plus in the over 40 years I have been voting I have never had someone call and ask me how I’m going to vote. Nor has anyone I know. Democrat or Republican. Nor do they know anyone that has. Yes I understand that is also a small representation, but you’d think in my mothers 65+ years she’s been voting, with also being a delegate and being on three candidates teams she should be polled at least once. Nope. So it’s almost like they don’t take a large enough random selection of voters.

  44. I have always treasured the elderly. Learning their experiences. I think it’s because by the time I was 10 I had no grandparents. And that last one, my paternal grandmother, never spent time with my siblings or I. Had absolutely no use for us. I had a coworker that was 89 and I loved talking with him. How he was a cryptographer for the government, how his wife was a British fashion model, etc. He had only his wife’s mentally disabled daughter after his wife passed. How he continued working so he could afford things she needed. And then she died and he was all alone. And that will break my heart for a long time.

  49. Kat is right! My now exes NEVER voted. They registered and then would do NOTHING. So I told them to do mail in voting and I’d ask “Ok straight Republican ticket?” They’d say “Yes” and go to play video games. I’d bring them the ballot, they’d look it over, sign the envelope and I’d have them throw it in the mail in the morning. It was the same thing with Christmas and birthday cards. I’d fill them out and they’d sign. Only way they are voting now is if they do it in a video game or their significant other is doing like I did.

And I do not doubt that it’s true that if you’re applying for a job and your parents have giving you a name like Laquisha or Ja’Leroyal, the hiring manager is going to think twice about you. Either in the we shouldn’t hire them or the we should hire them because “they’re black”. Either way comes across as wrong IMO.

  56. Since I was 6yo I would read comics. DC or Marvel, it didn’t matter. I was just fascinated with the storylines. So this movie sucking hurts a lot. Usually my youngest daughter and I would go see all of the adaptations of comic book superheroes. We could not wait. I’d mark the premiere date on my calendar. But with this movie I asked my daughter “are we interested in this” and she replied “I am not, but we can go see it if you want to .” And she is woke and a huge Brie Larson fan. But she had absolutely NO interest in the movie.

But then for my kids to have ANY social media accounts until they were 16+ I also had an account on that platform AND they had to give me the passwords for platforms they were using. And I told them if they made secret accounts when I found out they would lose their phones and use of the family computer. And they abided by those rules. I was a SAHM at that point so they knew I had the time to check. ( I didn’t) And even with my youngest and her having her own laptop when her dad left us, she was content with my rules. She’d often come sit next to me while she used her platforms as I was looking for jobs and coming up with a lesson plan for her the next day. ( I homeschooled her through middle school)
