  2. Oh ok, so Trump lemmings are back to supporting the police now? They didn't offer too much support on 1/6. I'm fine with this as long as we get rid of qualified immunity as well. Tax payers shouldn't be on the hook when cops cause lawsuits.

  3. Departments are sued and tax dollars are used to pay the settlements. Qualified immunity protects an officer from being sued personally. If officers knew that they could be sued because of their actions, you would see a lot of them clean up their act very quickly.

  6. But public citizens can't sue cops. That's what qualified immunity is and that's why it needs to go.

  7.  @Brotherhood.777  The money awarded in the lawsuit doesn't come from the officers themselves, it comes from the tax payers. If we get rid of qualified immunity, cops would personally be sued and it would lead to more police being a lot more careful of their actions.

  16.  @albertomolina3868  So are you for or against qualified immunity. If cops can sue citizens, citizens should also be able to sue cops, no? Cops wouldn't have to get lawyers unless the prosecutor took up the case. Cops must be held accountable as well.
