  1. People missunderstand statistics. They tend to think these events are bad luck,but they are not. They tend to count as "time of events"only the time when something really happened. In reality every second of every day is a chance of something bad happening. If you spend 4 years with nothing bad happening then something bad happens, that is not bad luck.. that is GOOD luck. When you have dozens of ships in a war scenario, it is unreasonable to not have bad events happen.

  3.  @skeletonwguitar4383  And WW1 should be proof enough that complex chain of alliances with dozens of countries add safety only up to a certain level and after that they bring up instability (as what happened in WW1). Neither British neither germans were in bad terms, neither wanted to fight each other, neither started the war, but they were dragged to it and right into the middle and to the very end.

  4.  @georgeb811  This does not change the fact that statistically there were in the 30's more people with engineer /factory skills in city than in the coutnryside. Today's profile is completely different, but back then most people in city worked in factories and every factory trained their people to handle fires.

  5.  @Cbabilon675  Turning into Reefs is just a nice way to say "littering". It is trash in the ocean. In some palces where the reef barrier has been severely damage that can have some good, but on other places is just throwing trash in the ocean.

  8. In cities you will find a more spread knowledge levle from completely unable to use a screwdriver... to a guy that can very well design that machine completely from scratch. On the farm everything tends to be compressed in the middle where everyone knows a bit, but also no one knows everything.

  9.  @Mr.Scootini  It becomes a matter of specialization. I fix my own computer, most people do not. I paint my own family portraits, almost no one does that:P But no one can be able to do everything.
