What I really want to know is WHY there were live rounds in the set? If any scenes need live rounds they should have been made in separate day, all at once, then remove all live rounds from the set for the other days.

@MikeGervasi With that I agree completely. I am not against weapons, but I am in favor of being illegal to handle a gun without making a basic safety training.

@mrb152 a hypothetical example. If he was handed the gun and the prop master said.. "these rounds, they are fake, you are safe, you can even pull the trigger and nothing will happen, I am paid to be sure of it" on that case the reasonable assumption is that the guild would be in the one making such statement (again not saying that is what happened). That as the actor.. but everyone in command of that set should be made responsible for the stupid idea of having live ammo on it in a day no live shooting should have been done.

What if you do not KNOW how to verify? Think for a moment you are dealing with a more complex system just for the sake of the argument. Say someone give you a prop of a poison bottle and say it is just colored water .. and you must put in a cup in the scene that someone else drinks. If that was indeed poison.. how in hell would I, a non chemist going to know? That is why there is a concept of someone qualified that must take responsability.

@caroldonaldson5936 But if someone that was paid to be sure , told him, no, this is a prop ammo? Someone that uses guns will be able to recognize, but be sure.. 95% of world population would not know. Whoever was responsible for the gun safety cannot be let go free. Some others can also be to blame, but the one that was supposed to take care of it has undeniable blame unless there is evidence of foul intentional missplay by others.
