  1. Because that is not what it was made to do. It is NOT supposed to be a database. It is a LANGUAGE MODEL. Its focus is to be able to communicate as a human, clearly and understand semantic concepts. After it has the semantic concepts it can feed those to other lesser AIs, but its objective is and will NOT be to retrieve information. For that we have search engines.

  2.  @asiwir2084  No it is not like that. Chat GPT is a language model that identifies semantic concepts. Yes semantic concepts and uses another AI to feed the question of proposal to another AI that can use the identified semantic concepts to find yet another internal AI that can solve it (most fo times it is a logic engine). I have passed a lot of test with it where I asked a solution for an issue and he fabricated a flawed solution, so when I pointed the flaw it was able to find another solution. You cannot do that by simply statistical sampling, because you need to have the concept of semantic values so you can handle the concept of conflict of logic.

  3. The issue is.. AIs cannot still decide upon themselves to do something (and we are basically at position ZERO on that race) . So the risk is still in a human that request the AI to fail on purpose on the touring test.

  4.  @boogerpicker8104  No it did not. Any person that is smart still breaks chatGPT easily. The touring test was proposed on an implicit level that someone with capable skills would be an evaluator. Anyone that works with AI still can make chatGPT bit its own tail in a few minutes.

  5. But Chat GPT was not trained to sovle any problem. its focus is to communicate with HUMANS. All the other parts are appendages used to make it feel capable to beign useful. But the greatness of the tool is on its amazing capacity to understand what you ask.

  6. The system was not focused to be a database of information (AI are very bad at that) it was made to be a semantic connection engine. Do not ask it to memorize a phone book, AI are horrible at that (because they are NOT databases). But you can ask it to solve a logic puzzle.
