@pacifactor If it was self defense he would not be RUNNING into Kyle sorry. He would draw his weapon and from several meters away shot at him! Running into someone while with a gun in hand is NOT how you defend yourself or others. You do not pursue someone in self defense! That doe not exist!

Well when shots were fired and someone was hurt it is logical that investigation MUST happen, always. But the evidence was pretty clear that those specific shots where fired in a situation where he was under attack and could reasonably fear for his life.

@dicswet True but these are not the charges. He did something DUMB and risky but that is not what was being judged . To be young and reckless is a much much much lighter thing than murder. He did put himself into a situation that had everythgin to go wrong and that is dumb, but that does not automatically put blame in the things that happen after that.

@ahiddenoddity Maybe, but then you need to ask your congressman/lawmaker to change the law, because the current law allows it and someone cannot be arrested for doing something that the law say it is OK. You can be angry at the law, but the judge cannot change the law, that is the job of other people.

@045spdgt That is not relevant. A previous crime that is already being dealt it in the legal system should NOT stain every single action of your life, that would be prejudice. His actions there were the problem, being a fellon changes nothing. If a Nun had charged him with a gun pointing at the boy, it would be equally stupid and threatening and the self defense would be still valid. This shole case is just a pack of people doing DUMB and risky things on BOTH sides.

@valsyaranamual6853 You know this did not happen in the soviet union ? Yes that was the place where people could be prosecuted for traveling around without express government authorization.
