@Romy--- Because in the show they always save the life of the patient.. and people saved from horrible deaths tend to be lenient of transgressions.

Well there are very very very expensive hospitals where you do get absurd attention, but it will cost you even more absurd money.

@SSDavyS Great news, Glad it worked for you. To reiterate, my point is not to say it is worse or best, just point people that the numbers are a bit more complex than most people think (I live in Brazil a country devastated by the mentality that everythign the government pays is for free... :( )

American healthcare system is an unique quirk that one can see better from the rest of the world. Did you know that the same medicine, for a lot of medicines, are several times more expensive in USA? That the average number of exams made in USA is much higher than in the rest of the world? Well the quirck think is.. USA is funding the advancement and development of medicine worldwide, because these profits are the ones that make worth developing new treatments because new treatments are not profitable most of the places.

@Loj84 It can be seen better in the rest of the world because if it were not for US overpriced system then we would not even HAVE the modern treatments as it would be economically unfeasible to develop them. A simple example, a modern 3D mammography exam, here in south america, the insurance pays the clinic about 8 USD. If it were not for US costs it would not justify the development of new devices that cost several dozens of millions to develop. Development of healthcare tech is expensive and someone somewhere needs to pay the bulk of the price. If it were not for USA comic prices , the rest of the world woudl share that burden.

@SSDavyS Not exactly it is government subsidy so that money also comes from your taxes. Not saying it is a problem, just saying that the real cost is not exactly that. It is easy to forget that roughly 40% of economy in Belgium goes to the government. Effectively the government spends 4,960 USD per year with each citizen in healthcare (Not very up to date data here but should not be far off still) . Those 5K you also spend, because the government did not took it from thin air. The advantage of their system is that since everybody is always paying bit by bit there is no huge spike of cost for anyone when a problem happens.

It is a bit more complicated the personal investment on somebody does change how people think. Also, there are tons of people that are not doctors but that visited so many doctors in their lives because of an permanent condition that they end up knowing about that specific condition nearly as much as a non specialized doctor would

@nickynicks_ You really need to ask? Humans naturally act more positively towards more attractive people. If chase actor were ugly he would not be a favorite... will not even start about 13.

But the thing is Cushing disease does not make one magically get fat, it makes you HUNGRY. it is still the food that you eat that make you gain weight. In fact Cortisol helps burning fat into energy, it jus tmakes harder for one to control itself on eating.

That happens because 9 in 10 times someone says that to the doctor, there is nothing wrong except lack of willpower. That makes the doctors start to disbelief as standard.

It is simple, the obese child can still do something about it, the talk can change things. The addict... nope...wastign saliva.

@lullabelle0 But the important thing is youknow you pay more taxes, the falalcy is when people say "its free". It is not free.. it is escalonated and distributed. That is different. It is the same thing with military.. you pay taxes that are used to protect you.. since you obviously cannot afford a Tank.
