@DefensePoliticsAsia Not so simply. Brazilains love to hate their own army . Brazil still have half a Million active troops and 1.9 Million reservists that passed trough trianing in last 5 years. And enough infantry equipment for all. Brazil will not intervene because Lula SUPPORTS maduro, but we have the infantry and the artillery to do it. VEnezuela army is critically bad as well on something more important than weapons, .. FOOD. It is public that they have difficulty feeding their troops, so they send recruits in training back home before lunch time every day to save on food.

Lula is extremely in favor of Maduro, but he is an egomaniac and if he sees this as an opportunity for his name to be remembered as someoen taht avoided a war he will go for it.

Lula needs totry to defuse the situation, because if war starts he will have to abandon his last powerful friend in south america, or he wil have riots here if he dares to suppott venezuela in a war.
