@FrankWinchester No , it is a legal issue. In Russian law a war must be approved by the parlament. In fact is the same for USA. notice how many events US call INTERVENTIONS and not war. It is the exact same thing.

@FrankWinchester Because if they said otherwise it would be admiting is a WAR. How hard is for you to understand? Do you realize there is a sea platform that is litigiated as a coutnry because an UK govenrment officer referred to it ONCE as a country and that gave themn enough legal ground to drag it for YEARS in international courts? Now you forget a crutial detail... the north was the revolutionary one.. the ones defending were the south. THis war will ikely end like the viatnam, that I agree with you.. with an artificial line between the 2. Ukraien will loose a thin slice of BOmbass and Lughansk at least partially and Russia will gain a path to crimea. I think the whole problem was after SU dissolution there should be created a NEW military coalition of POland Ukraine, Hungary, Romania between Russia and NATO. Strong enough to deter a war but not strong enough to make Russia feel threatened. That would have been the best chance of long peace.

You note that kherson has a WIDE river across it? Taking the other side is NOT easy, specially , specially because Russians destroyed all the bridges when the retreated to the east side. That front will NOT move until the center moves.

@FrankWinchester Youare the ones that need to understand what a legal framework is before you talk anything on the subject. US also does this. No a word is nto a word when spoken by a country official. learn that LAWS do not care for your dictionary. If the law say USA can only be at war with approval of the congress you are NOT going to see USA govenrment calling ANY of their actions war until the congress approves the declaration of war. Several coutnries works EXACTLY the same. Learn how the REAL WORLD work little boy.
