Yes, you proved the wires can carry voltage, how about current? Eric O and others use a high current draw bulb to prove there isn't an issue say like in a splice somewhere in the harness. My sister scraped a car because the transmission would down shift at highway speeds! Shop couldn't figure it out. Without looking at the car, but a wiring diagram, I believe the issue was in a factory wire splice down low on the core support. I believe the TCM was loosing either power or ground and the transmission would go into limp mode which was probably 2nd gear!

@Komputar think about vaccines! When they started selling a vaccine for chickenpox, that's when I started thinking 🤔. Is this about the health of the people, or the pockets of big pharma?! 🤔

If you're using the simpler spring compressor, use emery paper folded in half in between the tool hooks and spring. It'll keep the hooks from sliding on the spring.

I'd be concerned about the brake calipers locking up because of moisture being drawn into the fluid and settlings in the calipers.

Did it really need an AC compressor in the first place! 🤔 Going by the other botched repairs, probably not!

Was it put on an alignment rack?!!

I wasn't aware the customer could take to the mechanic/technician. 🤔

1999 Toyota Camry. 430,000+ miles. Got the car at 309,000. Changed the timing belt at 311,000. It probably was it's second belt. I'm guessing it was changed around 100,000 the first time.

Friend from church asked me to look at his late father-in-law's truck. All of sudden it stopped running. I came over, hooked up jumper cables, and got it to turn over and run. However, it wasn't running well. I smelled the liquid coming out of the pressure test point. Definitely didn't smell like gasoline. I think someone filled it with diesel. However, the point of my comment. The frame had rust holes. I believe the ONLY thing keeping it from folding in half, was the box leaning on the back of the cab! He got rid of it!

A your back would thank you if you got a topside creeper.

I certainly hope this guy didn't drive that death trap back the 750 miles with a rack flipping around like that!! What part of the dealership technicians think it's normal for a steering wheel to be centered one turn and then to go off center on the next movement?!!!! How were they testing it?! The OBDII port isn't going to help here! Well, it could if they looked at the steering wheel angle!!

That old engine would run well with a cylinder hone, new rings and bearings. I've done it a few times.

I think the shop manager/owner's desire to get as many vehicles through the shop in a day is particularly at fault for lack of testing. Also, lack of training/experience on the Mechanic's end.

@gavnonadoroge3092 ummm....no! It's under 100,000 miles! My '99 Camry is pushing 450,000. Original engine and transmission. Body will rot off before the drivetrain fails!
