  1. I could see the team relocating to Nashville. There was talk about building a stadium in Ybor City but zoning issues and a lack of funds in the Hillsborough County coffers seem to have squashed that idea. He is right about how Tropicana's location sucks and building a new stadium in that same area doesn't make sense. I went to my first and last game there this past opening day. Traffic sucked big time and the cops were clueless on how to keep it flowing. Instead they relied on the traffic lights which anyone who lives in Florida will tell you are for the most part timed like crap. The roads around there are just too damned narrow and if you go you better prepay for parking or show up seven hours early because the little bit of parking available in the area sucks as well. Have I said the location sucks? I hate using the same word so often but I'm trying not to swear. Too bad because the Rays are a an excellent team. If they were located in the city I grew up in, Detroit, they would be drawing three million a year. But unfortunately we have the Tigers. That is a conversation for another day though. I do expect the Rays to be gone. If they can stay in Orlando, cool. If not Nashville is a logical spot. Forget San Antonio or Austin, or any other city in Texas. I lived there for nine years. Texas is football and NASCAR, or it was when I was there. Three MLB teams is too much for that market. Maybe Charlotte if Nashville peters out. But they will leave, bank on it.
