I was in Barnes and Nobel a while back and this kid, maybe late teens, early 20s, was looking through the rows of vinyl LP's. He saw that I had a CD in my hand and he told me: "You know, albums have superior sound quality." As someone who came of age in the 1960s I just kinda smiled and said; really? You can tell people anything. I was an early adopter to CD's. I remember calling my brother a dinosaur for hanging onto his turntable. I sold mine and the few albums I had at that time the first time I heard a CD, convinced LP's were deader than fried chicken. Then I bought a new car a couple years ago and the technology I thought would never go away had...well gone away. I still have an extensive CD library but I also had to sign up for a streaming service if I wanted music in my car. I went with Spotify. They have a helluva collection and I'm satisfied for the most part. I will hit a dead spot though every now and again on a road trip and it is a pain the ass having to pull over to switch to a different playlist. Ce La Vie. I still listen to my CD's. And I will until I kick off.
