Christ taught us that redemption comes through repentance. "Go, and sin no more" ― John 8: 11. People don't like to be told they are sinners. Satan knows this. He doesn't pass judgement. He encourages us to explore all our Earthly desires, to live a life free of consequences. That is why his message is appealing to a lot of people. But he also doesn't love us. Quite the opposite. He despises us. He hates us even more than he hates our Creator. Why is the democratic party hostile toward people of faith? Because a lot of them reject the truth: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” ― Romans 6: 23. Not a very appealing campaign bumper sticker.
Don't get me wrong. A lot people with an R in front of their name feel the same way. They are just as hostile in their hearts but they need the votes so they keep their mouths shut. These are the kind who go to church on Sunday, sing the hymns, say the prayers, and come out clean as whistle, until Monday rolls around. Then it's business as usual. Christ has a message for them as well:
“Many will say to me on that day ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’ Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you.” ― Matthew 7: 22 - 23
“Two people went up to the temple area to pray; one was a Pharisee and the other was a tax collector. The Pharisee took up his position and spoke this prayer to himself, ‘O God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of humanity—greedy, dishonest, adulterous—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week, and I pay tithes on my whole income.’ But the tax collector stood off at a distance and would not even raise his eyes to heaven but beat his breast and prayed, ‘O God, be merciful to me a sinner.’ I tell you, the latter went home justified, not the former; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” ― Luke 18: 10 -14
I don't point this out to be judgmental. I spent a lot time away from God. I would not repent and wanted my will to prevail. I was wrong. And now I beg the Lord to forgive me daily. I fall short because I am still a sinner but I no longer actively seek it out the way I used to. That is what people are hostile about. We are like children who don't like to be corrected. But would you let your child play in traffic? Satan would. Christ is the Good Shepherd. I now pray for everyone who wears the blinders I once wore with pride. I feel for them because the relationship God wants to have with you is the greatest gift you can receive.
I'm glad to hear you have reverence for God Tulsi but it isn't a buffet where we get to pick and choose which commandments to follow. I know you are still in favor of murdering children in the womb. I implore you to truly repent. To change your life and do as Christ commanded, go, and sin no more. It's not a popular position, but Jesus told us it wouldn't be. The thing is, you are either all in or all out. That is a lesson I learned through bitter tears.
I know it is likely no one will read this post but if you do and you haven't done so yet, just have a conversation with your Savior. Lay out your sins and ask forgiveness. It's not difficult, just hard. God bless. 🙏
