Sorry, you ruined it with Stairway at #1. It's pretty and all, and when I was a kid that was the song everyone learned but maybe it just got so worn out for me on a personal level that I wouldn't even have it on my list. I would have included And I Love Her. It's a simple hook, but it grabs you right away. And how come Ian Anderson never gets any love when it comes to these types of homages to acoustic guitar? The intro to Life's a Long Song or Skating Away are better hooks than some of the tunes here. But these things are subjective so WTH.

I suppose it makes sense. To put it in perspective, when I was a teenager in the 1970s I wasn't really up on Rudy Vallee or Al Jolson. As far as data goes, I think the metrics get skewed a bit by a particular song. Bohemian Rhapsody is one of those tunes that has stayed at the forefront of the American consciousness so it will tilt the needle in Queens direction over a band like The Beatles but I bet if you look at it over time the data might reveal something else again. As for why Jimi is failing to register with young people...well...I guess ya just had to be there. 😎

Some love for "And Your Can Sing." Awesome! Has one my favorite bass lines as well. And of course "Day Tripper" makes the list. First Beatle riff I learned how to play and one I used to teach students just learning to play because the fingering makes for a nice work out. Nice to see "I Feel Fine" ranked up there. I figured out the feedback bit at the beginning the same way John did, by accident. I went to turn up the amp holding the A note and there it was. Good job but I would have had "Dear Prudence" in there just because of the fingering and the use of the D tuning.
