I was born on Canada. I still have relatives and friends who live in Canada. I spent seven years living in Canada as an adult, some of it as member of the U.S. military, some as a civilian training Canadian military service members. For the most part I enjoyed my time in Canada. But when I left Canada and returned to my American home the only thing that kept me from getting down on my knees and kissing the ground was fear of the border guards mistaking me for someone bowing to Mecca. I promised myself even then, before the boy emperor trudeau came to power, that I was never leaving the U.S. again. My heart breaks for my family and friends who still live there but it honestly does not surprise me in the least that they not only elected castro's illegitimate son but that most of them are willing to go along with whatever imperial edicts he may decree. Years of living on the government cheese will do that. I used to visit Canada on a regular basis as a kid, but those days are so far in the rear view mirror it is literally like another time. The last time I was there was for my Father's funeral and I say last because I will never set foot in that country again. I am losing aunts, uncles and cousins as time goes by and it makes me sad when I don't attend their funerals, but Canada is nowhere near what it once was. I'll keep my memories. RIP Canada. Sorry you took the hemlock.
