  1. I think it started with reality-TV. People saw that and thought they too could become famous if they only had the chance. Twitter, Tick Tock, and I suppose to a lesser extant, Facebook, gives people that opportunity. Twitter seems to be especially toxic. It's like the world's biggest reflective pool where the collective id goes to burp whatever inane thought happens to pop into someone's head at any given moment in time. I don't have a Twitter account so I am speaking from second-hand knowledge but it seems like Andy Warhol was right about that 15 minute thing. The problem is, most people would be better served if they stopped letting all those perfectly good opportunities to keep their mouth shut pass them by.
