  1. NATO was established for one purpose, to prevent a Soviet invasion of Western Europe. NATO should have ended the moment the USSR ceased to be a thing. The problem is there is a lot of money to be made preparing for a war that will never come. Sorry, Putin is not Stalin, his armed forces are not the Red Army, and Germany is no longer a basket case. I mean, we've shrunk the navy to ridiculous levels in a region where there is an actual threat, why keep this old Cold War relic clunking along. Cha-ching! 💰That's why. Makes me sick and I spent a large portion of my adult life training for a war that never came and that was when the threat was real. It's long past time to say adios to NATO. Relocate the UN to Brussels and let them set up a phony defense network. I'd be okay spending a few tax dollars to rent the U-Hauls necessary to make that a reality but that's me.

  2. Yeah, that comment was not only off-base it was crass. What did she want to do prove she can cuss like a sailor? Mission accomplished I suppose, but not exactly professional. I say this as someone who worked in a trade where the f-word was used as everything from a transient verb to a personal pronoun so trust me, I'm no shrinking violet. I just found it off-putting is all, but that's me.
